Opened in 1894, the iconic, two-storey red and white exterior of the Nuwara Eliya Post Office is a living example of the Tudor/ Edwardian style of architecture that was evident during the colonial era, complete with a traditional clock spire. The Post Office is easily recognizable and is a fond memory of those old and new, who call Nuwara Eliya, home. A photograph of this Post Office was used in a stamp which was issued on the World Postal Day in 1990 due to its glory and grandeur. Those visiting the Post Office can view a few display cases with some historic memorabilia and this is also the place to send a postcard to your loved ones or friends… Tel: 052-222-2250
