Established in 1991, Athukorala Tea presents the finest of Pure Ceylon Tea to its customers. The Athukorala Tea Factory is located in Pitigala Southern Sri Lanka and is open and welcome to all visitors keen to learn about the intricate process of producing the best cuppa.

Tea Factory Tour

Athukorala Tea uses the best low grown tea leaves in order to manufacture their local and international, award-winning tea products. A visit to the Tea Nursery shows how the plant takes root and its various stages of growth.

Visitors to the Athukorala Tea Factory can observe step-by-step how fresh tea leaves are then cut from the plantation’s tea fields and then transported to the factory where they are later subject to withering, rolling, fermenting, drying and then finally sorting.

The Athukorala Tea Factory is fully geared and laid out in order to welcome visitors and conduct tours. The friendly tour guides speak numerous foreign languages and will be happy to guide and direct all visitors as they discover and explore the story of Pure Ceylon Tea.

Tea Centre

Your visit to the Athukorala Tea Factory ends at the Athukorala Tea Centre where the complete history of tea cultivation in Sri Lanka is described along with displays on the various types of tea and major tea growing regions in Sri Lanka.             

At the Athukorala Tea Centre, visitors can also taste a delicious cup of Pure Ceylon Tea and for those wanting to purchase some tea to take home as a gift or souvenir, the Athukorala Tea Centre showcases the full range of Athukorala Tea Products including black, flavoured, green and oolong teas.

Athukorala Tea is also proud to introduce premium gold and silver tips tea products that assure the very best of luxury tea for customers.
